Our Disruptive Solution Pipeline

As the solutions we are developing are focused on creating entirely new architecture level solutions for next generation networks, we believe we can create companies that offer disruptive solutions and not simply incremental advances to current technologies. Some of our subsidiary opportunities already in initial stages of technical due diligence, intellectual property and/or business development include:

TownCar/QLimo was created in 2002 to transform the $11B chauffeured ground transportation business. The company has concluded several acquisitions and is developing a national service deployment.

 

Alex Mashinsky founded Qwireless in 2001. A software controlled management system to allow for dynamic allocation of spectrum among end-users and carriers based on price, quality, and availability.

 

3.  Comgates

Comgates is the world leader in media gateways and soft switch technology, It was spun off Arbinet in 1998 and has raised 13M$ in capital. Alex Mashinsky serves as a board member and advisor to the company.

 

4. Elematics

Founded in June 2000, Elematics is developing technology to enable real-time provisioning of optical circuits across multiple carriers and multiple vendors on different networks. The company's technology is designed to enable short term, unscheduled provisioning of optical network capacity across heterogeneous core, metro, access, and local enterprise networks in support of premium services and applications including real-time peering management, hosted storage, secure VPNs, and video conferencing. Elematics' technology and unique business and pricing model will dramatically lower costs, improve service velocity, and enhance revenue opportunities for network service providers, co-location facility provides, ASPs, and enterprise customers worldwide. The company raised $11M in its Series A founding round in August 2001 led by Warburg Pincus. Other investors included The Hatch Group, Brobeck Phleger & Harrison, Collaborative Capital, Taylor Winfield, various angels, and founding entity, VenturiFX.
