As a serial entrepreneur, advisory board member, corporate finance consultant, and Director of Investor Relations for a public company, Jeff Parness has helped to raise over $140,000,000 for every stage company, from every type of capital source, and in every economic market cycle - including over $12 Million for 3 separate companies he co-founded in 2001 - one of the most difficult times for private equity financing in recent history.

Over the years, Jeff has had the privilege of sharing his unique insights and lessons from his financing successes (and failures), as well as the successful financing and business strategies of other successful companies with literally hundreds of entrepreneurs in start-ups, expansion stage companies, and career-changers considering start-ups. His guidance to entrepreneurs on how to raise and select the best money to grow a business was recently featured in a Harvard Business School case study now being taught at leading universities nationwide.

In June 2000, Jeff launched VenturiFX, a seed-stage fund and business creation company with Alex Mashinsky, a successful serial telecommunications entrepreneur. In the past year, Jeff and Alex have successfully launched and funded VenturiFX (www.venturifx.com) as well as 2 spin-off companies, Q-Wireless and QOptics (www.qoptics.com) which raised over $10 Million in August 2001 from Warburg Pincus, one of the most prestigious private equity firms in the world.

Prior to VenturiFX, Jeff served as the outsourced director of corporate finance for Arbinet-thexchange, the world’s leading telecommunications capacity exchange founded by Alex Mashinsky. From January 1999 through March 2000 Jeff helped to raise over $77,000,000 in funding for Arbinet-thexchange from leading venture capital and institutional investors including Communications Ventures, Internet Capital Group, Bedrock Capital, JP Morgan Capital, Chase Capital Partners, BancBoston Ventures, Amerindo, Van Wagoner Capital Mgt. and funds affiliated with Robertson Stephens, Soundview Technology Group, and Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown. He also managed the underwriter selection process on behalf of the company.

A graduate of the University of Michigan, and a White House intern under President Reagan, Jeff has over 13 years experience in sales, marketing and finance in publishing and information technology start-ups and high growth companies.

In 1995 Jeff joined IDT Corporation (the parent company of Net2Phone) where he had the privilege of working alongside its visionary founder, Howard Jonas. Starting in the Alliance Partner Program, Jeff helped negotiate strategic alliances with regional Internet Service Providers. As the head of Public and Investor Relations, Jeff helped to successfully manage IDT’s 1996 $40 million Initial Public Offering. In 1997, Jeff formed IPO Associates, a corporate finance and strategic business development consulting practice. In this capacity, Jeff provided strategic and financial advisory services to numerous early and expansion stage companies in telecommunications, Internet software, and e-commerce.

Jeff has been a featured speaker at numerous international conferences on Internet telephony, bandwidth trading, and risk management. He is also a member of the Advisory Boards of GivingCapital and LCconnect.
